Checkers online: English draughts, on 8×8

Checkers the English way: an 8×8 board, twelve pieces each, captures compulsory. Men capture forward only, kings move one square in every direction. No randomness: the match is entirely in your two hands.

How it plays

You step one square diagonally forward, and capture by jumping an enemy piece — forward too. The moment a capture exists it is compulsory, but you choose which one; a multiple capture, once started, is played to its end, square by square, the board offering only what the rules allow. A man that reaches the far row is crowned, and its move ends there; a king steps and captures one square at a time, forward or back. Automatic draw on threefold repetition, and after 40 moves each without a capture or a man moving.

Ranked, here

Every game has a ladder of its own: five placement matches, then a rank from Wood to Master, with divisions and LP that rise and fall with your results. You can also play unranked, or a private match on a link you send.
