1. The service
HopOn is an online mini-games platform (the “Service”), published on a non-professional basis by private individuals (see the legal notices). It lets you play short games against other players, ranked (with a leaderboard per game and per season) or casual, and with friends.
By creating an account or using the Service you accept these terms. If you don’t accept them, don’t use the Service.
2. Age
The Service is for people aged 15 and over. Under 15, creating an account requires the consent of a parent or legal guardian, who accepts these terms on the child’s behalf. We may close an account we have reason to believe breaks this rule.
3. Your account
An account is personal. You are responsible for keeping your password private and for everything done from your account. A valid email address is required; verifying it is required to access ranked play.
One account per person. Creating several accounts to play against yourself, to get around a sanction or to distort the leaderboard is forbidden and leads to all the accounts involved being closed.
Your pseudo and avatar are visible to other players. They must not be abusive, discriminatory, misleading (impersonating a person, a team or the Service) or unlawful. We may change or remove them without notice.
4. Play and conduct
A leaderboard is only worth something if it is honest. The following are forbidden:
- any form of cheating: software, scripts, automation, exploiting a bug;
- collusion and fixed results (“boosting”, rigged games, deliberately abandoning to help another player);
- repeatedly abandoning games. Leaving a game in progress is a loss; leaving without warning, repeatedly, leads to waiting periods before you can play again, then to sanctions;
- harassment, insults, threats and any behaviour that harms other players;
- any attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, to disrupt it, or to collect data about other players.
Games are refereed by our servers: every move is validated server-side and a game can be replayed for checking. Our decisions on a game’s result or on a sanction are made in good faith and can be contested at contact@hoponthegame.com.
5. Sanctions
Depending on how serious and how repeated the facts are, we may: void games, remove ranking points, suspend the account temporarily, or close it for good. If it is closed you can ask for the reasons and give your side at the contact address.
6. Content and intellectual property
The Service, its games, its adapted rules, its visuals, its names and its code belong to the publisher or its partners. Names of third-party games and brands mentioned for comparison belong to their respective owners; the Service is not affiliated with any of them.
You keep ownership of what you upload (avatar, pseudo). You grant us the right to display it in the Service. You warrant that you have the right to use it.
7. Availability and changes
The Service is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it available but do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted. Game rules, the ranking system, seasons and features may change; we announce significant changes in the Service.
Ranking points, ranks and seasons have no monetary value and can be neither sold nor transferred.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect damage arising from use of the Service, nor for content posted by players. Nothing in these terms limits the rights the law gives you as a consumer.
9. Closing your account
You can close your account at any time from the settings. A 14-day period lets you change your mind by signing in again; after that, your personal data is anonymised as described in the privacy policy. We may close an account that breaks these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute an amicable solution will be sought first; failing that, the competent courts are those the law designates, subject to the protective rules applicable to consumers. You may also use the European online dispute resolution platform.
